These suppliers provide Pillar with the latest manufacturing technologies and assist us with prototype builds and pilot and full production capabilities. The Product Development ProcessPending the complexity of your project many projects can be broken into four major phases of work. Phase 1 Initial Product Development: Research, concept brainstorming, product concept, ergonomic design, component creation, industrial design, materials selection, process definition, photorealistic rendering and project planning. Phase 2 Product Design and Product Development: 3D SolidWorks CAD model construction, mechanical engineering, materials and process analysis, advanced surfacing, assembly development, project management, supply chain & vendor allocation, bill of materials and detailed GD&T or ANSI technical drawings. Phase 3 Prototype and Pilot Production: Prototyping, small sample pilot run 1 to 300 parts, packaging, marketing collateral, project management, process development, strategic manufacturing, process optimization and first article review and corrections. Phase 4 Initial Production: manufacturing liaison, business & production planning, vendor supply chain and logistics, SWOT process analysis, implement manufacturing and process metrics and project goals, manufacturing process optimization and analysis and practice and implement LEAN manufacturing process methodologies. |
